Site transformers are sized by output VA (volt-amps) rating. For a small site running 1-2 tools at a time (drill, jigsaw, light), a 3.3 kVA transformer is sufficient. For a typical site running 3-5 tools simultaneously plus lighting, 5 kVA is the standard. For larger sites with high-current tools (110V breakers, large grinders) or multiple high-power loads, 10 kVA and above transformers are required.

Forged-steel hammers are made by heating and shaping steel under pressure — the standard for most trade hand tools, giving strong grain alignment and good impact toughness. Drop-forged hammers are a specific forging technique using a heavy drop-hammer to shape steel in a single blow — denser metal structure, harder face, longer-lasting under heavy impact. For routine hand-tool use, forged-steel is sufficient; for heavy continuous-use sledgehammers and breaker hammers, drop-forged construction is preferred.

Bolt cutter capacity is rated by the maximum diameter and material grade of bolt it can cut. For mild steel bolts up to M8 and chain up to 6mm, 14-18 inch bolt cutters are sufficient. For mild steel up to M12 and chain up to 10mm, 24-inch cutters are the trade standard. For hardened bolts, padlock shackles, and rebar, hydraulic bolt cutters with 30-tonne+ ratings are needed. Match the transformer rating (kVA) to the total simultaneous load of the tools and lighting connected. The 110V site-power range is browsable separately.
