The SIP 01950 Bench Morticer with Cabinet is a heavy-duty woodworking machine designed to cut square or rectangular holes into timber for joinery, cabinet making, furniture production and hobbyist projects. Powered by a 750W (1hp) motor running at 1400rpm on a standard 230V (13A) supply, it delivers consistent morticing performance across a wide range of timber applications.
Constructed from heavy-duty cast iron for long-term durability, the machine incorporates a robust clamping system that keeps workpieces secure even during demanding tasks. The work table measures 400mm x 150mm, offering a generous surface area suitable for larger or irregularly shaped timber. Longitudinal and lateral table movement provides versatile positioning, while the integrated NVR (No Volt Release) switch adds an important layer of operational safety. The heavy-duty cabinet brings the machine to a comfortable working height, making it a practical floor-standing option for the professional workshop.
Morticing capacity spans 6mm to 26mm (1/4" to 1"), with a maximum chisel stroke of 210mm and a maximum spindle-to-fence distance of 140mm. The machine also doubles as a pillar drill: by substituting a drill bit for the morticing chisel (3mm minimum to 16mm maximum chuck capacity; drill bits not supplied), the maximum drilling capacity extends to 70mm. This dual-function capability adds considerable versatility to the workshop floor.
The SIP 01950 is well suited to furniture making — including tables, chairs, cabinets and wardrobes — as well as hinge and handle fitting, doors and window frames, beams and posts, fencing and railings.
