Shell Corena S4 R 46 is an advanced synthetic air compressor oil designed for the high-performance lubrication of rotary sliding-vane and screw air compressors. The product uses an advanced additive system for protection in rotary compressor service, where deposit control, varnish resistance and long oil life are critical to compressor reliability.
The 'R' designation indicates rotary (sliding-vane and screw) compressor positioning, and the ISO VG 46 viscosity grade is the most widely specified rotary compressor oil viscosity.
Approvals and performance levels include ISO 6743-3 (compressor oil classification). The product is tested to ASTM D445; ASTM D1298; ASTM D3427 (air-release); ASTM D2272 (RPVOT oxidation stability); and ASTM D1401 (water separability).
Shell Corena S4 R 46 is also available in a 209-litre drum (PRD00003953) for workshop bulk supply.
The 20-litre pack format is suited to single-machine top-up and small workshop service. Store sealed in the original packaging, in a clean, dry area away from extremes of temperature, to preserve product performance over its shelf life.
The 230°C flash point and -48°C pour point indicate balanced thermal stability and cold-flow performance for typical service.
