Exocet Kerosene Lubricity Additive is used where kerosene runs in place of gas oil or diesel in stationary equipment, supplied here in the 25 litre pack. It also goes into domestic and commercial heating systems to protect fuel pumps from excessive wear.
Low sulphur kerosene does not carry the lubricating properties of additised gas oil or diesel, which usually contain lubricity additives of their own. This product compensates for that natural lack. It forms a protective film on metal surfaces, creating a barrier that reduces contact, friction and wear, so wear rates are minimised and equipment life maintained. It is recommended by leading boiler fuel pump manufacturers. The film it forms is the working part of the product. Where a pump was specified for a fuel with natural lubricity and is now running on low sulphur kerosene, that barrier is what stands between the pump and premature wear.
Dose at 1 litre of additive to 5,000 litres of fuel. Typical applications are heating systems where fuel pump failures or seizures have been experienced or are predicted, and agricultural grain driers. It is also used on domestic heating systems where fuel pumps are incompatible with the fuel quality being supplied.
