Castrol Hyspin AWH-M 46 in the 208-litre drum is supplied for workshop bulk service and on-site refilling of mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment. It is a shear-stable high-viscosity-index anti-wear hydraulic oil in the Castrol Hyspin AWH-M range, based on the latest base oil technology and an advanced additive package. The product is designed for severely stressed hydraulic systems requiring wide-temperature viscosity stability alongside anti-wear performance.
The ISO VG 46 viscosity grade is the standard general-service grade in the Castrol Hyspin AWH-M range, suited to general industrial hydraulic operation and mobile hydraulic equipment operating across varied ambient temperatures.
Approvals and performance levels include ISO 6743-4; and DIN 51502, 51524 and 51350.
For single-machine service and smaller operators, Castrol Hyspin AWH-M 46 is also available in a 20-litre pack (PRD00001336).
This drum format is suited to workshop bulk supply, fleet service and high-throughput dispensing via a workshop pump or filtration cart. Store the drum on its side in a bunded area, with the bung uppermost to limit moisture and contamination ingress around the fitting.
The 215°C flash point and -42°C pour point indicate balanced thermal stability and cold-flow performance for typical service.
The Castrol Hyspin™ AWH-M hydraulic oil range of shear stable high viscosity index lubricants are based on the latest stabilised zinc additive technology. Hyspin AWH-M contains a shear stable additive system which helps maintain the viscosity characteristics of the product over a wide temperature range even during prolonged use and imparts a very low pour point which enables the product to be used in very cold environments. It exhibits excellent corrosion and wear protection as well as outstanding thermal and oxidative stability. In addition, Hyspin AWH-M has excellent hydrolytic stability and separates rapidly from water contamination upon standing. Applications include: Outdoor equipment which are likely to operate in wide temperature ranges, such as machinery subjected to cold start up conditions and high temperature continuous running. Examples include off-highway and marine applications. Indoor manufacturing equipment that incorporates control systems requiring minimal viscosity change with temperature. Examples include precision machine tools. The Hyspin AWH-M range is fully compatible with elastomer materials commonly used for static and dynamic seals, such as nitrile, silicone and fluorinated (e.g. Viton) polymers.
