Vibration transferred along a rigid air supply connection can damage couplings and adaptors over time, and may expose operators to unnecessary risk. The PCL HA2149 is an anti whip hose designed to distance an air tool from its air supply, reducing vibration in line with the Health and Safety Executive's guidance note HS(G) 39. The assembly comprises 0.6 m (2 ft) of 10 mm (3/8 in) inside-diameter hose, fitted with a Standard Adaptor at one end and an R 1/4 male end fitting at the other.
By introducing a short, flexible hose between the air supply and the tool, the HA2149 helps to protect couplings and adaptors from the repetitive stress caused by tool vibration, contributing to longer service life across the airline system. The assembly is suitable for use wherever a degree of mechanical isolation between supply and tool is required.
Manufactured by PCL in Sheffield, UK, a company with a continuous production history in compressed-air equipment dating from 1938 and now part of HORNGROUP. PCL state that their whip hoses are highly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive's Guide HS(G) 39.
