Vibration transmitted through a rigid air-tool connection can accelerate wear on couplings and adaptors, and expose the operator to unnecessary strain. The PCL HA2155 is an anti whip hose comprising 0.4 m (16 in) of 8 mm (5/16 in) internal-diameter hose, fitted with a Standard Adaptor at one end and an R 3/8 Male end fitting at the other — designed to distance an air tool from its air supply and prevent vibration transfer.
PCL's whip hoses are highly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive's guidance HS(G) 39. By introducing a short, flexible hose section between the air supply and the tool, the HA2155 reduces the mechanical stress on couplings and adaptors and helps to prolong their working life, whilst allowing the tool to be used more safely.
The HA2155 is manufactured to PCL's long-established standards in Sheffield, UK — part of the HORNGROUP — with a manufacturing heritage stretching back to 1938. The Standard Adaptor and R 3/8 Male end fitting combination makes this hose suitable for integration into PCL airline systems where that fitting pairing is required.
