Compared to knotted wire, the crimped construction is better suited to paint stripping and lighter rust removal where over-aggressive cutting action would be counterproductive. Stainless steel wire ensures no iron contamination of the workpiece — critical when cleaning stainless steel, aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
