Soft hoses relax over time; a clip that cannot be re-tensioned simply lets the seal fade with them.
This is the 17-25mm size of the Hi-Grip worm drive range. Where cheaper clips cut their threads and leave sharp band edges, JCS rolls the screw threads for strength and fully rounds the band edges so the hose is protected as the clip bites. JCS publishes a recommended torque of 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in) for this size - seat the clip centrally on the barb and work up to it gradually. Hi-Grip exceeds BS5315 and holds BSI Kitemark and NATO approvals.
Made from heavily electro zinc plated and passivated mild steel, tested to EN9227, it suits general purpose work in non-corrosive environments - domestic, automotive and industrial hose connections. Measure the outside diameter of the hose when fitted and choose the clip whose range covers it. JCS supplies leading agricultural machinery manufacturers, and the same clips serve garden machinery, workshop and light industrial pipework.

A. It adjusts between 17-25mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 17-25mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 11/16 to 1 in, covering common 3/4 and 7/8 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. No - JCS itself cautions that zinc-coated clamps can quickly corrode or seize around salt water. The marine specification is Hi-Grip Stainless: 18/8 304 stainless throughout, with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
