Variations
On machinery that vibrates for a living, an ordinary hose clip slowly backs itself off until the joint weeps.
Worm drive clips seal by drawing the band evenly through a captive screw housing, and the HGZ30PM1 adds the JCS details that make that reliable - a 22-30mm adjustment span, a cold-headed, work-hardened hex screw with rolled threads that will not round off, and fully rounded band edges. Recommended tightening torque for this size is 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in). Manufactured to exceed BS5315, Kitemarked and NATO approved.
Uniquely, JCS applies the zinc plating after the steel is cut, so even the cut edges of the band are coated. That makes it a dependable general purpose clip for domestic, automotive and industrial use in non-corrosive conditions. Size it by the fitted outside diameter of the hose, and recheck after sustained vibration - the 5-clip pack keeps spares on hand for the next service.

A. It adjusts between 22-30mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 22-30mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 7/8 to 1 3/16 in, covering common 7/8 and 1 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. JCS electro zinc plates and passivates the mild steel band after it is cut to size, so even the cut edges carry coating - and the finish is tested to EN9227. That suits dry and general duty; once salt or standing moisture is involved, the stainless range is the correct specification.
A. No - JCS itself cautions that zinc-coated clamps can quickly corrode or seize around salt water. The marine specification is Hi-Grip Stainless: 18/8 304 stainless throughout, with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
