Soft hoses relax over time; a clip that cannot be re-tensioned simply lets the seal fade with them.
Worm drive clips seal by drawing the band evenly through a captive screw housing, and the HGZ16PM2 adds the JCS details that make that reliable - an 11-16mm adjustment span, a cold-headed, work-hardened hex screw with rolled threads that will not round off, and fully rounded band edges. Recommended tightening torque for this size is 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Manufactured to exceed BS5315, Kitemarked and NATO approved.
Zinc plated for general purpose service, this clip is the everyday choice for automotive, domestic and industrial hose joints in non-corrosive conditions; for persistently wet or salty duty JCS points buyers to its stainless range instead. Size by the fitted outside diameter of the hose and tighten in stages. A 10-pack suits a multi-point job or the van stock bin.
Also available - the same clip in a 5-pack (HGZ16PM1); the 9.5-12mm size (HGZ12PM2); the 13-20mm size (HGZ20PM2).
The larger adjustment range per size means one JCS clip covers spans that would take two ordinary nut-and-bolt clamps.

A. This size spans 11-16mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 11-16mm and the HGZ16PM2 is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 7/16 to 5/8 in, covering common 1/2 and 5/8 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. The band is heavily electro zinc plated and passivated, tested to EN9227, and JCS plates the steel after cutting so the cut edges are coated too. It is intended for non-corrosive environments such as domestic and light industrial use - for wet, salty or chemical-exposed duty choose the Hi-Grip Stainless version.
