Variations
Outdoors, in washdown bays or anywhere salt and moisture linger, an ordinary plated clip corrodes and seizes long before the hose it holds fails.
The HGS20PM1 is a Hi-Grip worm drive clip adjusting between 13-20mm. Its band edges are fully rounded to protect the hose, and the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it resists slipping or rounding under the driver. Tighten incrementally to the recommended 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in); over-tightening is what damages hoses. The range is manufactured to exceed BS5315 and carries the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Built from 18/8 marine-quality 304 stainless steel (EN 1.4301), it holds Lloyd's Register Type Approval for marine, offshore and industrial use. JCS stainless clips are used across water and drainage plant - pumping solutions, stormwater and overflow systems, wastewater treatment and irrigation networks. Size by the fitted outside diameter of the hose and seat the clip centrally over the barb.

A. This size spans 13-20mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 13-20mm and the HGS20PM1 is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 1/2 to 13/16 in, covering common 5/8 and 3/4 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. Yes - every component is the same grade of stainless steel, verified through JCS's salt mist testing, so there is no mixed-metal weak point to corrode first.

A. For most marine and wet industrial duty, this 304 (18/8) clip with its Lloyd's Register Type Approval is the standard answer. JCS reserves its 316 grade for the most demanding settings - offshore, food and pharmaceutical - so if that is your application, ask us about options.
A. JCS designs against it: the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it holds its setting and will not round off. On high-vibration equipment, JCS's guidance is to recheck the clip after service to keep the seal intact.
