Variations
Wet environments are where standard hose clips quietly fail - corrosion locks the screw, pits the band and ends any chance of re-tensioning the joint.
This is the 14-22mm size of the Hi-Grip worm drive range. Where cheaper clips cut their threads and leave sharp band edges, JCS rolls the screw threads for strength and fully rounds the band edges so the hose is protected as the clip bites. JCS publishes a recommended torque of 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in) for this size - seat the clip centrally on the barb and work up to it gradually. Hi-Grip exceeds BS5315 and holds BSI Kitemark and NATO approvals.
Every component is the same grade of 304 stainless steel, verified by JCS's salt mist testing, so there is no plated screw or mixed-metal weak point to corrode first. Lloyd's Register Type Approval covers marine, offshore and industrial service. Choose the size whose adjustment range covers the fitted outside diameter of your hose; the 5-pack covers a full circuit or keeps spares aboard.

A. This size spans 14-22mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 14-22mm and the HGS22PM1 is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 9/16 to 7/8 in, covering common 5/8 and 3/4 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. No mixed metals here - band, housing and screw are all the same stainless grade, and JCS verifies that through salt mist testing. Cheaper clips often pair a stainless band with a plated screw, which is the part that fails first.

A. Hi-Grip 304 stainless is marine-quality 18/8 steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval and is suited to saltwater service. A. The screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with a sharply defined hexagon and rolled threads to resist slipping and rounding. For high-vibration applications JCS recommends rechecking the clip after use to maintain seal integrity.
