Re-threading damaged or stripped threads demands a reliable set of precision cutting tools, and the Draper 79201 Metric Tap and Die Set provides exactly that in a compact 10-piece kit. Whether restoring fastener threads on a component or cutting fresh threads for a new fixing, this set covers the most common metric coarse sizes encountered in workshop and light engineering tasks. The set is suitable for cutting threads in mild steel and aluminium making it well suited to general automotive and fabrication work. All components are manufactured from high carbon steel which provides the hardness necessary for clean accurate thread cutting across these materials. The kit contains four metric coarse dies in 3 4 5 and 6mm sizes all with a 1-inch outside diameter along with four matching metric taper taps in the same 3 4 5 and 6mm sizes also with a 1-inch outside diameter. A 1-inch outside diameter die holder is included for secure die control and a 'T' type tap wrench with a capacity of M4 to M8 completes the set ensuring every component required for a tapping or threading operation is supplied together.
