Threading and re-threading tasks demand accurate tooling matched to the material and thread form in use. The Draper 79205 Combination Tap and Die Set provides a comprehensive 76-piece solution covering both metric coarse, metric fine, and BSP thread forms, making it suitable for cutting new threads and cleaning damaged ones on mild steel and aluminium. The set is manufactured from carbon steel and includes 9 metric coarse dies 8 metric fine dies and 1 BSP die sized at 1/8"" BSP all to a 1"" outside diameter where applicable. Thread-cutting is supported by 17 metric taper taps and 17 metric plug (bottoming) taps spanning the same metric coarse and fine size range plus a 1/8"" BSP taper tap and a 1/8"" BSP bottoming tap. Size coverage runs from M2 x 0.25 through to M12 x 1.75 across both coarse and fine series. To complete the cutting process the set supplies 17 HSS twist drills — sized specifically to match each tapping diameter — ranging from 1.7 mm to 10.7 mm. Driving tools comprise a 1/2"" capacity American-pattern tap wrench and a 1/4"" capacity 'T'-type tap wrench along with a 1"" outside-diameter die holder with guide. A screw-pitch gauge and screwdriver are also included. All components are organised in a plastic insert within a steel storage case keeping tooling protected and correctly located between uses.
