Threading into new or damaged material requires a reliable, accurately manufactured tap set that delivers clean, consistent threads from the first cut. The Draper 83799 Coarse Hand Taps set addresses this need with a pair of high carbon steel taps — one taper and one plug (bottoming) — supplied together on a display card for convenient storage and point-of-use access. The taper tap is used to start the thread and guide the cutting action whilst the plug tap follows to complete the thread to the base of the hole. Together they produce accurate coarse threads in 6mm diameter applications with a thread pitch of 1.25mm. The high carbon steel construction ensures the cutting edges are formed with the hardness and durability required for hand tapping operations. This set is supplied as one of each tap — taper and plug — presented on a display card. The 6mm size and 1.25mm coarse pitch make this set suitable for general workshop maintenance and repair threading tasks where M6 coarse threads are required.
