Cutting accurate internal threads by hand demands tooling that holds its geometry under load. These Draper 2.5mm coarse hand taps are manufactured from high carbon steel and feature accurately cut coarse threads, ensuring consistent thread form throughout the tapping sequence. The set includes one taper tap and one plug (bottoming) tap allowing the operator to work progressively through a blind or through hole: the taper tap starts and aligns the thread while the plug tap carries the thread to full depth. Both taps are supplied on a single display card keeping them organised and ready for bench use. With a thread pitch of 1.25mm these taps suit 2.5mm metric coarse thread applications commonly encountered in general engineering automotive repair and workshop maintenance tasks. The high carbon steel construction provides the hardness required to cut threads in a range of materials. Supplied as a matched pair — one taper and one plug — on a display card.
