Cutting accurate coarse threads by hand demands tooling manufactured to precise tolerances. The Draper 83802 Coarse Hand Taps set addresses this need with two complementary taps — taper and plug (bottoming) — supplied together on a display card, giving the user both the entry tap for starting threads cleanly and the plug tap for completing or bottoming them in blind holes. Both taps are manufactured from high carbon steel with accurately cut threads ensuring reliable thread formation in a range of materials. The 12mm size is paired with a thread pitch of 1.25mm making this set suited to standard M12 coarse threading tasks encountered in workshop and maintenance environments. The set is packed one of each — taper and plug — on a display card so both tap types are available as a ready-to-use pair without the need to source them separately. This pairing allows the user to progress logically from initial thread cutting with the taper tap through to the final pass with the plug tap.
