Recovering or repositioning an ATV in challenging terrain demands a reliable, purpose-built winch capable of handling serious loads. The Sealey ATV1000W is designed for mounting directly to an ATV and delivers a 1000kg (2200lb) line pull using a 3-stage planetary gearing mechanism with a 166:1 gear ratio. Powered by a 0.9kW (1.25hp) permanent magnet DC motor running on 12V, it draws 12A at no load and up to 118A at maximum load. The pull-and-turn clutch allows for quick engagement and disengagement, while the 4-way roller fairlead ensures even distribution of the 4.8mm diameter wire rope across the drum. Line speed reaches 3.3m/min at no load and 0.8m/min at maximum load, with 12 metres of wire rope supplied. A wireless remote control is included for operation from a safe distance. Performance figures are quoted at the first layer of cable on the drum.
