The Draper Expert 60981 Coil Spring Compressor Kit is designed for use on both MacPherson strut coil springs and conical springs, covering the two most common spring types encountered in professional workshop and independent garage environments. The kit's interchangeable jaw system is central to its versatility. Three pairs of jaws cover diameter ranges of 65–125 mm, 88–160 mm, and 126–212 mm, enabling the compressor to work across a broad spread of vehicle makes including Audi, BMW, Ford, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Saab, Subaru, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volvo, and VW. The compressor itself accepts a 21 mm hex drive and has a maximum opening of 300 mm, while an extension bracket with hex key is included to assist in more restricted working positions. Safety is addressed through two distinct mechanisms. A built-in safety overload system provides protection for the user under excess load, and yoke protectors are incorporated to prevent damage to the spring surface during compression. The compressor body measures 453 mm in length. The complete eight-piece kit — compressor, three pairs of jaws, and extension bracket with hex key — is supplied in a blow-mould plastic carrying case with display sleeve, keeping components organised and protected during storage and transport.
