Achieving good access to the workpiece is a persistent challenge with bulky pliers — the KNIPEX Alligator® Water Pump Pliers address this with a slim head and joint area that keeps clearance tight and handling precise. Supplied as part of Draper's professional tool range under SKU 18503, these 300mm pliers deliver greater output and comfort compared to conventional water pump pliers of the same length. The 9-notch adjustment system provides 30% more gripping capacity than standard positioning, whilst the self-locking action on pipes and nuts eliminates workpiece slippage and reduces the handforce required during use. Gripping surfaces feature special hardened teeth with a hardness of approximately 61 HRC, ensuring high wear resistance and stable gripping under sustained professional use. The box-joint design delivers high stability through a double guide arrangement, and the robust construction is specifically noted as insensitive to dirt, making these pliers particularly suitable for outdoor work. A pinch guard is incorporated to prevent operators' fingers being pinched during adjustment. Capacity for pipes reaches 70mm diameter (2¾ inches) and capacity for nuts extends to 60mm, giving the tool genuine versatility across plumbing, pipefitting, and general workshop applications. With 9 adjustment positions, workpiece diameter can be matched quickly and accurately without tool changes.
