Terminating wire ferrules cleanly and consistently is a precision task, and the KNIPEX 97 55 14 SB Self-Adjusting Crimping Pliers are engineered specifically for that purpose. The tool adjusts automatically to the size of the wire ferrule being inserted, removing the need for manual adjustment and enabling precise, quick crimping across a range of ferrule sizes up to 16 mm² — including twin wire ferrules up to 2 x 10 mm² or 2 x AWG 8. Crimping is performed to DIN 46228 parts 1 and 4 with hexagonal compression. A ratchet mechanism ensures repetitive, high crimping quality on every cycle and can be unlocked when required. Tools are precisely set and calibrated in the factory before despatch, so there is no requirement for user calibration on receipt. UL approval is achieved in conjunction with KNIPEX wire ferrules 97 99 330 to 399. Force transmission is optimised through a toggle lever mechanism, significantly reducing operator fatigue during sustained use. The narrow handle width and ergonomic grip contribute to smooth, comfortable operation, while the overall construction is kept lightweight for extended working sessions. Constructed from special quality chrome vanadium electric steel, oil-hardened for durability. The tool measures 180 mm in overall length.
