The SIP Pro B16 (SKU 01712) is a 550W bench-mounted pillar drill designed to make light work of preparing and finishing a broad range of workpiece materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hard and soft woods, and high-density plastics. Operating from a standard 230V (13A) supply, it delivers 16 selectable speeds across a range of 220rpm to 2800rpm, making it equally suited to pilot drilling, blind holes, batch work and general drilling applications in metalwork, woodwork and manufacturing environments such as gates, rails and trailers.
Precision and repeatability are built into the design from the outset. The adjustable tilting table with tilt scale allows the workpiece to be accurately positioned for angled or perpendicular drilling, while a three-lever handle ensures smooth and controlled drilling force. A drilling depth stop maintains consistent hole depths across repetitive or blind drilling runs, helping to minimise material wastage. The high-power brushless induction motor drives the spindle through a chuck accepting drill bits from 3mm to 16mm, with an MT2 spindle taper and 80mm of spindle travel.
Safety features include an integrated chuck guard to reduce user risk during operation and a safety interlock switch that prevents accidental start-up when adjusting the motor belt — a reassuring feature in any busy workshop. The column diameter measures 72mm, the table diameter 290mm, and the maximum chuck-to-table distance is 360mm, with a 325mm swing. The sturdy cast iron base (410mm x 245mm) provides the stability the machine demands, while the overall bench-mounted footprint of 980mm height keeps floor space clear.
