Identifying hidden moisture in wood and construction materials without reliable equipment wastes time and risks costly misdiagnosis. The Laserliner 082.015E DampFinder Compact Material Moisture Measuring Device addresses this by delivering precise moisture content readings in per cent across many types of wood and construction materials, making it well suited to quick checks on site or in the workshop. Wood moisture measurements are performed in either wood group A or B mode, allowing the user to select the appropriate calibration for the timber being assessed. The index mode enables multiple measuring points to be compared, supporting systematic surveys of larger areas. An alarm function provides an immediate alert when readings exceed acceptable thresholds, whilst the auto-hold feature retains the last reading on the easy-to-read display for convenient use. A built-in calibration test allows the user to verify device accuracy at any time by taking a reference measurement through the supplied protective cap, which also incorporates a self-test function. The measuring range for building materials spans 0% to 38%, and ambient temperature is monitored across a range of -10°C to 50°C with an accuracy of ±2°C. Power is supplied by 4 x 1.5V LR03 (AAA) batteries, which are included. The housing is manufactured from a large proportion of recycled material, contributing to sustainability objectives. Supplied complete with protective cap and batteries.
