The fleece structure conforms to surface contours and absorbs heat generated during polishing, reducing the risk of heat damage to the workpiece. Osborn designs these products for use with polishing compounds to achieve surface finishes ranging from scratch removal and blending (Type 925) to high-gloss mirror finish (Type 914).
