Random orbit sanders demand abrasives that stay sharp and resist loading, particularly when working through multiple grits on wood, metal or painted surfaces. These 150mm gold sanding discs from Draper are manufactured from aluminium oxide with a calcium stearate treatment that delivers self-sharpening and anti-clogging performance, keeping the cutting surface active for longer between disc changes. The aluminium oxide abrasive is resin bonded to a heavy-duty D-Weight backing paper, giving each disc the durability needed to withstand demanding sanding and finishing tasks. The hook and loop backing provides secure, reliable adhesion to compatible backing pads while allowing fast disc changes without tools or adhesive strips. Six pre-punched 8mm dust extraction holes are positioned to channel sanding dust away from the workpiece during use, improving visibility and surface quality. The discs are suitable for sanding and finishing wood, metals including ferrous alloys, painted surfaces, varnish, plastic and fillers. The pack of 10 discs covers five grit grades — 120G, 180G, 240G, 320G and 400G — supplying two discs per grit for progressive material removal through to fine finishing. The discs are compatible with all 150mm random orbit sanders fitted with a hook and loop backing pad, including Draper Stock Nos. 65084, 83942 and 84125.
