Sized to adjust between 130-160mm, the HGS160BG carries the construction details Hi-Grip is specified for - rolled screw threads on a cold-headed, work-hardened hex head, fully rounded band edges, and a published tightening torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size band. The range is made to exceed BS5315 and holds the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Packed as a carton of 10 for the counter and the toolbox, it carries the full stainless specification - every component 18/8 (EN 1.4301) stainless steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval - for hose joints in wet, corrosive and saltwater service from boats to washdown bays.
Also available - the same clip as a bulk pack (HGS160BP); the 110-140mm size (HGS140BG); a zinc plated version in the same size and pack (HGZ160BG).

A. This size spans 130-160mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 130-160mm and the HGS160BG is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 5 1/8 to 6 5/16 in, covering common 6 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. Yes - every component is the same grade of stainless steel, verified through JCS's salt mist testing, so there is no mixed-metal weak point to corrode first.
A. Yes - JCS stainless hose clips are used across water and drainage infrastructure, including pumping solutions, stormwater and overflow management, wastewater treatment and agricultural irrigation networks.
A. For most marine and wet industrial duty, this 304 (18/8) clip with its Lloyd's Register Type Approval is the standard answer. JCS reserves its 316 grade for the most demanding settings - offshore, food and pharmaceutical - so if that is your application, ask us about options.
A. JCS designs against it: the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it holds its setting and will not round off. On high-vibration equipment, JCS's guidance is to recheck the clip after service to keep the seal intact.
