Variations
When a coolant or air line starts seeping where it meets the fitting, the fix is rarely a new hose - it is a clip that holds its clamping force.
Worm drive clips seal by drawing the band evenly through a captive screw housing, and the HGZ40PM2 adds the JCS details that make that reliable - a 30-40mm adjustment span, a cold-headed, work-hardened hex screw with rolled threads that will not round off, and fully rounded band edges. Recommended tightening torque for this size is 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in). Manufactured to exceed BS5315, Kitemarked and NATO approved.
Uniquely, JCS applies the zinc plating after the steel is cut, so even the cut edges of the band are coated. That makes it a dependable general purpose clip for domestic, automotive and industrial use in non-corrosive conditions. Size it by the fitted outside diameter of the hose, and recheck after sustained vibration - the 10-clip pack keeps spares on hand for the next service.
Also available - the same clip in a 5-pack (HGZ40PM1); the 25-35mm size (HGZ35PM2).

A. This size spans 30-40mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 30-40mm and the HGZ40PM2 is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 1 3/16 to 1 9/16 in, covering common 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. No - JCS itself cautions that zinc-coated clamps can quickly corrode or seize around salt water. The marine specification is Hi-Grip Stainless: 18/8 304 stainless throughout, with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
