FAQs

Each air tool has a CFM rating at a working pressure (typically 90 PSI / 6-bar). The compressor's free air delivery (FAD) at that pressure must comfortably exceed the tool's demand. Aim for compressor FAD of at least 1.5× the tool's CFM to allow for duty cycle, pressure drop, and pulse demand from intermittent tools. For multiple tools running concurrently, sum the CFM demand. Heavy continuous-duty tools (sanders, large grinders) need a belt-drive compressor with a 100-litre or larger receiver tank.

Air-line couplings come in several profiles — the Euro/Universal type, the Japanese (Nitto) type, the American (Industrial) type, and the UK Vertex profile — and these are not cross-compatible. Two fittings that look similar but use different profiles will leak or refuse to seat. The simplest fix is to identify the existing profile in your shop and order matching couplings, or fit a profile-conversion adapter where you need to bridge two systems. Coupling profile is listed on product pages.

Vehicle servicing — air ratchets and impact wrenches for fasteners (1/2-inch or 3/8-inch drive, 800–1,200 Nm range), air hammers for stuck components, blow guns for cleaning. Metal fabrication — die grinders for internal metalwork, angle grinders for cutting and dressing, needle scalers for rust and weld-spatter removal, air saws and nibblers for sheet metal. Air drills and air screwdrivers cover assembly and panel work in both. Air sanders cover bodywork preparation.

Parts For Machines is an Authorised Distributor and Seller of SIP, Sealey, and Draper across air tools. SIP covers the broadest range, from air ratchets through to specialist tools. Sealey covers mid-range trade pneumatic tools. Draper covers the entry-trade tier. Clarke is represented in air tools. Nuair appears in selected pneumatic ranges.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase, in original packaging, on orders delivered within the United Kingdom. For damaged-on-arrival items, report within 24 hours with photographs to [email protected] — we will typically arrange collection and replacement at no cost to you. For parts that don't fit your machine, the Fit Guarantee covers a hassle-free return at no cost. For buyer's remorse — you've changed your mind or ordered the wrong item, email us first to obtain a Return Merchandise Number; a restocking fee may apply. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the return is inspected.

Delivery time depends on the product, your destination, and availability — the estimated time for any item appears on the product page, and 'Check where we deliver' confirms coverage for your postcode before you order. Next-day delivery is available on most products; the option appears at checkout when applicable. We deliver across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Use the country selector at checkout to confirm coverage and delivery options for your destination.

Air Tools

Within Compressors, Air Tools covers the pneumatic tools that run from compressed air — the working end of a compressed-air installation. Parts For Machines supplies air-tool kits, individual pneumatic tools, and the couplings, hoses, and accessories that connect them, for trade and industrial workshop use. Air-tool sub-categories include Air Ratchet Wrenches and Air Hammers (used in vehicle servicing and assembly), Air Die Grinders, Air Drills, and Air Angle Grinders (metalwork and fabrication), Air Needle Scalers and Air Saws/Nibblers/Cut-off Tools (rust removal, sheet-metal work, cutting), Air Screwdrivers (assembly), Air Blow/Spray/Grease Guns (cleaning, painting, lubrication), and Air Tool Kits (combined sets for general workshop use). Parts For Machines is an Authorised Distributor and Seller of SIP, Sealey, and Draper across air tools. SIP covers the broadest range — air ratchets, impact wrenches, die grinders, drills, sanders, and tool kits. Sealey covers mid-range trade pneumatic tools. Draper covers the entry-trade end. Parts For Machines offers Clarke air tools and Nuair pneumatics, plus a wide range of air-line accessories — quick-release couplings, hose reels, tyre inflators, blow guns, pressure gauges, and the connectors that join the system together. Couplings and hose-end accessories are the most-searched items within this section, particularly for replacement parts on existing installations. Each air tool carries a CFM rating at a working pressure — typically 90 PSI / 6-bar. To run a tool reliably, the compressor's free air delivery should be at least 1.5× the tool's demand at the same pressure. Heavy tools (impact wrenches, large grinders, continuous-duty sanders) demand significantly more air than light tools (blow guns, tyre inflators, brad nailers). Replacement parts and consumables — quick-release couplings, hose ends, oil reservoir filters, pneumatic motor service kits — are supplied for the major SIP, Sealey, and Clarke ranges. Search by the model code on the tool's data plate.
