FAQs

Bottom rollers carry the machine's weight on the lower track run; carrier rollers support the chain's return run over the top of the frame, keeping it aligned and tensioned between idler and sprocket. Fewer of them, lighter loads — but a failed one lets the chain sag, slap and saw, which wears everything else fast.

Three checks with the chain slack: tread diameter against the manufacturer's service limit, free rotation by hand — a stiff or seized roller is finished — and dry seals, because a weeping roller has lost its lifetime oil fill. Flat spots and a chain groove cut into the tread are terminal signs.

Usually, yes. They're cheap relative to the labour of opening the job twice, and undercarriage wears as a system — new chain over a flat-spotted carrier roller wears unevenly from day one. At chain or bottom-roller replacement, check the carriers and renew any near limit.

Machine make, model and serial — fitment is machine-specific and serials catch mid-series changes. Mounting style (stem or flange), tread diameter and width from the old roller act as the cross-check. Send them via WhatsApp or Ask Simon and the part is confirmed before ordering.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase, in original packaging, on orders delivered within the United Kingdom. For damaged-on-arrival items, report within 24 hours with photographs to [email protected] — we will typically arrange collection and replacement at no cost to you. For parts that don't fit your machine, the Fit Guarantee covers a hassle-free return at no cost. For buyer's remorse — you've changed your mind or ordered the wrong item, email us first to obtain a Return Merchandise Number; a restocking fee may apply. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the return is inspected.

Delivery time depends on the product, your destination, and availability — the estimated time for any item appears on the product page, and 'Check where we deliver' confirms coverage for your postcode before you order. Next-day delivery is available on most products; the option appears at checkout when applicable. We deliver across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Carrier rollers, the top rollers, support the track chain on its return run across the top of the track frame, keeping the chain aligned and stopping it sagging and slapping between idler and sprocket. PartsForMachines supplies carrier rollers matched by machine make and model, with the rest of the undercarriage system, bottom rollers, idlers, sprockets, track adjusters and guides, listed in the same section.

Rollers sell by machine fitment, and the confirming data sits on each product page: tread diameter, overall width and length, mounting style, with stem-mount and flange-mount the common patterns, and bolt details. Sealed, lubricated-for-life construction is the standard, so a leaking carrier roller has finished its service life. A machine carries far fewer carrier rollers than bottom rollers, but their failure is loud and destructive: a seized top roller flat-spots, the chain saws into it, and the slapping chain accelerates wear on links and frame. Compare lines up options where patterns overlap, and Ask Simon confirms fitment from the machine model and serial.

The wear checks are simple: tread diameter against the service limit, free rotation by hand with the chain slack, and no oil weep at the seals. Carrier rollers are usually replaced during the same intervention as chain or bottom-roller work, since access is open and the parts are cheap relative to the labour of a second visit.

Undercarriage jobs run urgent, so confirm fitment first: send the machine make, model and serial via WhatsApp 07754288583 for availability on carrier rollers and the matching undercarriage parts.
