FAQs

Both, usually — in a pattern. The roller frame alternates single and double-flange rollers in positions set by the manufacturer to guide the chain and resist side loads. Match the existing layout position for position, or send the machine model and serial and the correct set is confirmed.

Measure the tread diameter with the track slack and compare against the manufacturer's service limit — visual judgement under-calls it. Leaking oil is an immediate fail: once the seal goes, the roller runs dry and the shaft follows. Flat spots and flange wear are the other tell-tales.

Rollers wear together, so replacing the worn ones individually leaves a mixed set that loads unevenly. On a machine mid-life, replacing the worst against the wear limit is reasonable; at undercarriage overhaul, roller sets go on with the chain so the system starts even. Markedly uneven roller wear points to tension or alignment faults — fix those too.

Machine make, model and serial number — undercarriage fitment is machine-specific and the serial catches mid-series changes. The existing roller's flange pattern, tread diameter and bolt pattern help as a cross-check. Send them via WhatsApp or Ask Simon and fitment is confirmed before the order ships.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase, in original packaging, on orders delivered within the United Kingdom. For damaged-on-arrival items, report within 24 hours with photographs to [email protected] — we will typically arrange collection and replacement at no cost to you. For parts that don't fit your machine, the Fit Guarantee covers a hassle-free return at no cost. For buyer's remorse — you've changed your mind or ordered the wrong item, email us first to obtain a Return Merchandise Number; a restocking fee may apply. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the return is inspected.

Delivery time depends on the product, your destination, and availability — the estimated time for any item appears on the product page, and 'Check where we deliver' confirms coverage for your postcode before you order. Bottom rollers carry the weight of a tracked machine: the lower rollers that run along the track chain, transferring the excavator or dozer's mass onto the links shift after shift. They are the hardest-worked wear item in the undercarriage after the chain itself, and worn rollers accelerate wear through the whole system. PartsForMachines supplies bottom rollers matched by machine make and model, with the related undercarriage — carrier rollers, idlers, sprockets, track adjusters and track guides — listed in the same section.

Rollers sell by machine fitment, and the page-level data covers the confirming details: single-flange or double-flange pattern (the machine's roller frame dictates the mix and positions), tread diameter, overall width, mounting bolt pattern and pitch. Sealed and lubricated construction is the standard, with the lifetime oil fill and duo-cone seals doing the work of keeping grit out, so a leaking roller is a finished roller. Each product page lists fitment, dimensions and weight, with Compare available to line up options and Ask Simon confirming fitment from the machine model and serial.

Wear measurement decides replacement: tread diameter against the manufacturer's service limit is the standard check, taken with the track slack. Rollers wear as a set, and uneven wear flags alignment or tension problems worth fixing at the same time — undercarriage is a system, and new rollers under a stretched chain or hooked sprocket wear out fast.

Undercarriage jobs are usually urgent, so confirm fitment before ordering: send the machine make, model and serial via WhatsApp 07754288583 for a direct check on roller availability and the matching undercarriage set.
