Compressing coil springs during suspension work carries serious risk without the right equipment. The Draper Expert 56191 hydraulic spring compressor is engineered for professional workshop and industrial use, providing a controlled, safe method for dismantling suspension units through the application of up to 5000kg of hydraulic force within a heavy-duty, full-size safety cage built from all-steel construction. The hand-operated hydraulic pump delivers entirely independent operation, requiring no electric or air power source. Fully independent top arms move both vertically and horizontally, allowing precise positioning across a wide range of spring configurations and diameters. The high-quality clamps and three interchangeable yokes — covering 75–110mm, 110–140mm, and 140–190mm — together with a fixing jaw (30–70mm) accommodate linear springs, progressive springs, side load springs (banana springs), and Mini block springs. A dedicated strut leg vice enables clamping of strut legs directly, making the unit compatible with otherwise awkward Mercedes struts including the C-Class W203 (pre-2007), C-Class W204 (2008–14), W205 (2015–18), E-Class W207/C207 (2009–18), and ML 163 (1997–2005), as well as VW Touareg struts — all without additional adaptors. Upper base travel is 266mm and lower base travel 240mm, with overall dimensions of 520 x 690 x 1320mm and a unit weight of 115kg. Robust wheels provide full workshop mobility, allowing the unit to be moved directly to the job. Exclusive to Draper in the UK and Eire, the 56191 is supplied complete with one fixing jaw and three yokes.

The powerful hydraulic pump provides a totally independent operation allowing for use without the need for electric or air power sources and its fully independent top arms have independent vertical and horizontal movement. The robust wheels provide full mobility around a workshop, whilst making the unit easier to store when not in use and because it's entirely mobile can be moved to the job as required. Unlike other similar looking machines on the market, this heavy duty compressor is built for professional industrial/workshop use and is supplied with three interchangeable yokes.
