The Draper Expert Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet (SKU 2512) addresses this directly: its lens switches from light to dark in just 1/10,000 of a second the moment the arc is struck, eliminating manual adjustment between passes and protecting the eyes consistently throughout the weld. The helmet covers shade levels 4, 5–9 and 9–13, making it suitable for TIG, MIG and ARC welding, plasma cutting and grinding via a dedicated grinding setting. Four ARC sensors drive the auto-darkening response, and a rotary dial on the control panel allows sensitivity adjustment. A stepless dark-to-light delay function gives the operator control over how quickly the lens returns to its lighter state between welds. Power is supplied by a combined solar cell and replaceable 600 mAh lithium-ion battery, supporting both fast switching and low-amperage sensitivity. The 100 x 67 mm viewing area provides clear sightlines across the weld zone, and the helmet operates across a temperature range of -5 to +55 °C. Total weight is 522 g. Fit is managed through an adjustable headband with a knob control, enabling the helmet to be positioned optimally for extended periods of workshop use. The helmet is supplied as a single unit and is part of the Draper Expert range.
