An on/off button controls the system, and a dedicated alarm warns the wearer of low airflow or low battery, supporting safe operation. The fire-retardant air hose incorporates a P3 filter for effective airborne particulate protection. The auto-darkening lens activates automatically when the arc is struck, switching at 1/25,000 s across shade levels 4 and 9–13. Two ARC sensors drive the response, and the 98 × 48 mm viewing area provides clear visibility of the weld zone. Power comes from a combination of solar cell and a replaceable 12 V 4.3 Ah lithium-ion battery, enabling fast switching and low amp sensitivity. The helmet is suitable for TIG, MIG and arc welding as well as grinding. The operating temperature range spans -10 °C to +55 °C.
