Each spanner is forged from chrome vanadium steel that has been hardened, tempered, fully polished, and mirror chrome plated. The chrome plating provides corrosion protection for long service life in demanding workshop environments. The extra-long shanks give improved access to hard-to-reach fasteners, and the 90-tooth ratchet mechanism delivers 4° of movement per stroke — allowing effective operation where swing arc is severely limited. Both ring ends on every spanner are 12-point HI-TORQ® profile. This geometry transfers torque to the flats of the fastener rather than the corners, maximising leverage and significantly reducing the risk of rounding or damage under load.
