Electrical and maintenance professionals working on live circuits face real risk when insulation integrity or grip security cannot be guaranteed. The Draper Expert XP1000® VDE Combination Pliers address that risk through a rigorously tested, purpose-engineered design manufactured from premium steel forged in Germany. The induction-hardened jaws deliver better gripping performance and an effortless, clean cutting edge for long-term performance, with a maximum cutting capacity of 2.0mm. Precision-machined pivot pins allow smooth one-handed operation with minimum play, reducing fatigue during extended use. The two-part bi-material ergonomic soft grip handle provides maximum grip and user comfort, while integrated horns prevent the hand from slipping onto live conductors. These pliers are tested to 10,000V and certified for use on live circuits of 1,000V AC and 1,500V DC, meeting VDE insulation standards. The handle incorporates a tethered fixing solution designed to comply with Work at Height Regulations G35, making them suitable for use where dropped-tool hazards must be controlled. Compatible lanyard (Stock No. 82474) and wrist strap (Stock No. 03740) are sold separately. Supplied as one XP1000® VDE Combination Pliers, 180mm, Tethered. Backed by a lifetime warranty, these pliers represent the Draper Expert standard for professional VDE hand tool performance.
