The Draper 60234 Bastard Cut Flat File measures 12 x 250mm and is manufactured from carbon chrome steel that has been hardened and tempered, giving the file the durability required for sustained workshop and engineering use. A rust preventative finish is applied to the body, and the file is additionally dipped in rust preventative oil, protecting the cutting surfaces from corrosion during storage and in workshop environments. The bastard cut grade sits between a rough and a second cut, making it suited to general-purpose stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where moderate material removal and a reasonably smooth finish are both required. The file is manufactured in accordance with BS498, the British Standard governing the dimensions, cut, and quality of hand files. This ensures consistent performance and compatibility with standard file handles. Supplied as a single file.
