Needle files are bought by profile because the shape of the file has to match the shape of the opening being worked. A round file will not square a corner, a three square file will not follow a curve, and no amount of cut grade compensates for the wrong profile. Cut grade matters less here than on a full size file because the material removed is small either way.
That is why they are sold in boxes of one profile rather than as mixed sets in the main range. A workshop repeating the same operation needs twelve of one shape, not one each of twelve shapes, and the boxes here are twelve of a single profile. Buying a box also means a worn file is replaced rather than the whole operation stopping.
The profiles held are flat parallel, flat taper, half round, three square and square in second cut. Each addresses a different internal shape, and a three square file in particular reaches into an acute internal angle that nothing else on the leaf will enter. Profile is stated per box rather than the boxes being mixed.
Diamond needle files cut hardened material that a conventional file will skate over, held as 6 and 10 piece sets at 140mm and 150mm with soft grip. Handles are fitted separately and take several files in turn. Send the opening being worked to 07754288583 on WhatsApp. A soft grip handle also gives control on a file that is otherwise held on a bare shank.
