The KNIPEX 71 31 250 SB CoBolt® XL Compact Bolt Cutter at 250mm is designed specifically for this purpose, requiring two-hand operation to deliver its full cutting capability. The tool's special joint design achieves a 40-fold increase of manual force, while the compound lever action reduces the effort required by 60% compared to conventional high-leverage diagonal cutters. Induction-hardened precision blades carry a cutting edge hardness of approximately 64 HRC, and the blades incorporate a recess profile that improves leverage close to the fulcrum for easier cutting of round material such as hard wires. A gripping surface located below the joint allows the operator to grip and pull wires from 1.0 mm diameter. Cutting capacities are as follows: medium hard wire up to 6.0 mm diameter, hard wire up to 4.3 mm diameter, and piano wire up to 4.2 mm diameter. These specifications make the CoBolt® XL well suited to professional workshop, electrical installation, and industrial applications where standard diagonal cutters lack the capacity for tougher wire gauges.
