Heavy-duty striking tasks demand a tool that delivers consistent, controlled force without punishing the operator. The Draper Expert Sledge Hammer (13991) is designed for efficient performance, providing a balanced swing for easier handling and accurate strikes across demanding applications. The head is forged from fine-grained, induction hardened special steel, ensuring the striking face maintains its integrity under repeated heavy use. A steel core is inserted into the shaft to increase strength and durability, addressing one of the most common failure points on lesser hammers where the handle meets the head. The handle features a wider neck for improved stability and is coated with strong fibreglass to protect against overstrikes — a practical safeguard when working at pace or in confined positions. Double-injection moulding and a shock-absorbing, non-slip grip ensure comfort and control during sustained use. This hammer is manufactured generally in accordance with BS 876, the British Standard governing the construction of hammers of this type. Offered in a 3.2 kg / 7 lb head weight, it is suited to professional workshop and site environments where reliability and build quality are non-negotiable.
