Worn or incompatible hose terminations cause air leaks and reduce tool performance. The PCL AC21S is a hose tailpiece from the Airflow coupling series, designed to accept 7.9 mm (5/16 in) internal-diameter hose and connect it securely into the Airflow quick-release system. PCL have manufactured Airflow couplings in Sheffield since 1938 as part of HORNGROUP.
As a series-level rating, the Airflow range operates to a maximum pressure of 14 bar (200 psi) and across a temperature range of -40 °C to 100 °C, with a bore of 4.8 mm and a rated flow of 43 cfm at 100 psi. The AC21S is catalogue-listed with an 8 mm / 5/16 in hose tail designation, consistent with the master short description of 7.9 mm (5/16 in) internal-diameter hose. The Airflow series is rated as interchangeable with Cejn 295 and Rectus 19 couplings.
