FAQs

Halogen heaters work best when the priority is rapid heat-up time and spot-heating a specific person or work area. Within seconds of switching on, the halogen bulb reaches operating temperature and starts radiating infrared heat. Use them for: short-duration warm-up in cold workshops, individual workstation heating where the operator needs warmth on demand, outdoor or covered work areas where ambient air can't be warmed, and emergency spot-heating where waiting for a convection heater to cycle up isn't practical. For sustained whole-room heating, convection or fan heaters are more efficient.

Typical halogen heater lamps last 5,000-7,000 hours of operation — at typical workshop use of 1-2 hours per day, that's roughly 5-10 years. Replacement lamps are available across the common halogen heater bulb specifications (R7s linear lamps in 78mm, 118mm, and 254mm lengths are the most common). Match by lamp length and wattage. WhatsApp 07754288583 with the heater model if your bulb specification isn't listed.

Standard halogen heaters get very hot at the front face and project significant radiant heat — they must be sited away from flammable materials, soft furnishings, and combustible surfaces, and manufacturer minimum-distance guidance must be observed. Most halogen heaters include a tip-over switch and an overheat cut-out, but they are not designed for unattended operation in occupied or unoccupied spaces. Always switch off before leaving the workspace.

Replacement parts — bulbs (the most common consumable), reflectors, switch assemblies, mains leads, and tip-over switches — are available for the majority of SIP and Sealey halogen heaters. Search by the heater model code. WhatsApp 07754288583 with model details for older units or unusual configurations.

Within Heating, Halogen Heater covers the radiant heating equipment that uses tungsten-halogen lamp technology to deliver near-instant infrared heat output — typically used for spot-heating individual workstations, small workshop areas, garage door bays, and outdoor or covered workspaces where rapid heat-up time matters more than overall heat output. Halogen heaters are essentially infrared heaters with a specific lamp technology — the halogen-bulb element reaches operating temperature within seconds and the radiant infrared output begins immediately. Parts For Machines supplies halogen heaters for trade and professional use — typical applications include workshop bay heating during winter, garage door work-areas where heat-up time matters, outdoor work-area heating (covered yards, loading bays), and emergency spot-heating where rapid output trumps efficiency. Parts For Machines is an Authorised Distributor and Seller of SIP and Sealey across the halogen heater range. Both brands carry the standard 1.5kW, 2kW, and 3kW halogen heaters used in workshop and trade applications. Clarke and Rhino extend the range with workshop and agricultural variants at competitive trade pricing. Product pages list heat output (in kW — typical halogen heaters run 1-3 kW per lamp, with multi-lamp models extending higher), number of lamps (single, twin, or triple-lamp variants), beam pattern and spread (some halogen heaters have parabolic reflectors that focus the beam; others have wider-spread reflectors for area coverage), mounting style (free-standing, wall-mounted, tripod-mounted), and any tilt or oscillation features. Halogen heater bulbs are consumable — typical halogen heater lamps last 5,000-7,000 hours of operation. Replacement lamps are available across the standard halogen heater bulb specifications. Trade pricing on multi-unit orders is available; contact the team via WhatsApp 07754288583.
