Heating large spaces efficiently can be a challenge in poorly insulated environments such as garages, barns, workshops, warehouses and marquees. The Draper 18070 indirect far infrared diesel heater addresses this by delivering 51,500 BTU (15.1kW) of heat output, spreading warmth evenly in all directions — unlike traditional fan heaters — and is designed to heat spaces of approximately 85m². The heater operates on an indirect far infrared combustion principle, meaning combustion gases are exhausted via the supplied flue kit rather than into the working space. This makes it suitable for enclosed indoor areas, provided the flue kit is installed. In well-ventilated areas such as garages and barns, the unit may be used without flue connection. It runs on diesel or kerosene fuel, consuming as little as 1.2 litres per hour from its 30-litre on-board tank, while drawing only 50W of electrical power to maintain burner operation — making it highly cost efficient to run. Control is via an LED panel featuring a 24-hour timer and full thermostatic control with a digital thermostat, all operable through the included remote control. The unit is described as low noise and almost completely odourless in operation.
