For longer-travel tension applications, the Metrol NS-V-TR-10-300 is a pull-type gas strut with a 300mm stroke. Compressing to 400mm and extending to 700mm. A traction strut works in reverse to a normal gas spring, pulling the rod in to apply force; the 150 - 1500N output is set on assembly and progresses about 30% across the stroke. Constructed on a 10mm rod in a 28mm body, it suits tension-and-hold mechanisms and is offered with a stainless steel option for outdoor use. Typical roles include holding a hatch closed, pulling a cover firmly against its frame and tensioning a moving linkage so it does not drift open. A threaded end fitting screws onto the rod and a bracket carries the body end, set so the strut pulls in the closing direction. It suits any mechanism where a steady pulling force, rather than a push, keeps a part where it should be, with its closed and open lengths chosen to bracket the travel of the part it controls. Within the traction range its nearest strokes are NS-V-TR-10-250 and NS-V-TR-10-400. The traction range carries a one-year guarantee, with a stainless steel option for damp and outdoor installations.
