When a panel has to open as far as possible, the Metrol NS-V-8-350 provides it. The longest-stroke variable force gas strut in the 8mm range, with a 350mm stroke reaching 750mm. Force is set on assembly rather than fixed at the factory. The 50–650N output is matched to the panel weight and can be bled down to fine-tune the open-and-hold balance, so a single model covers a span of loads. The 8mm QPQ-treated piston rod runs in a 18mm powder-coated steel body and the strut works across −30°C to +80°C. It is supplied at maximum force unless specified, and end fittings thread onto the rod to suit your mounting. Typical applications include inspection hatches, equipment covers, storage-box lids, machine guards and similar hinged panels. The rod threads into a ball-joint, eye or clevis end fitting and the body end mounts to a bracket on the frame; a balanced pair fitted either side lifts the panel evenly and holds it steady at any point in the travel. Within the range, its nearest stroke options are NS-V-8-300. Every strut is guaranteed for two years, and custom strokes and forces are available on request.
