Short-throw lids and compact panels need a strut that opens fully without overrunning the frame. The Metrol NS-V-10-100 is the shortest-stroke variable force gas strut in the 10mm range, with a 100mm stroke that extends to 250mm. Force is set on assembly rather than fixed at the factory. The 70–1200N output is matched to the panel weight and can be bled down to fine-tune the open-and-hold balance, so a single model covers a span of loads. The 10mm QPQ-treated piston rod runs in a 21mm powder-coated steel body and the strut works across −30°C to +80°C. It is supplied at maximum force unless specified, and end fittings thread onto the rod to suit your mounting. Typical applications include storage-box lids, machine guards, fold-down benches, worktop flaps and similar hinged panels. The rod threads into a ball-joint, eye or clevis end fitting and the body end mounts to a bracket on the frame; a balanced pair fitted either side lifts the panel evenly and holds it steady at any point in the travel. Within the range, its nearest stroke options are NS-V-10-150; the MLT-10-100 locking tube holds it open; the MPT-10-100 tube shields the rod; a 316 stainless equivalent is available as NS-SS-V-10-100. Every strut is guaranteed for two years, and custom strokes and forces are available on request.
