Threaded onto the strut rod, it snaps over a same-size ball stud on the mounting bracket, giving a joint that swivels as the panel moves. Its M10 thread suits a gas strut with a 14mm rod, and the 16mm ball clips onto BRK-11. The ball sits on a M10 stud 20mm long behind the 30mm body, threading into the bracket socket side. It is one of a family of end fittings that connect a strut to its mounting — a ball joint to swivel freely, an eye to hinge on a pin, a clevis to pin in line, or a rose eye to take up misalignment. Sized for a 14mm rod, the fitting is matched by thread to the strut and by size to the fixing. It is found on canopy panels, loft hatches, serving flaps, cabinet lids and similar panels. Within the M10 range, its nearest sizes are B13 and B14-A, differing by body length.
