Abrasive work on metal surfaces demands a cloth that combines durability with flexibility, and this emery cloth roll from Draper delivers both. The J-weight cloth backing makes the roll easy to tear into strips by hand, allowing precise lengths to be pulled without tools — a practical advantage when working around contoured surfaces or components. The abrasive grain is calcined aluminium oxide, resin bonded to the cloth for improved grain adhesion. This bonding method also provides anti-static properties, helping to reduce the build-up of dust and debris during use, which extends the working life of the abrasive surface. The roll measures 25mm wide by 50m in length and is supplied at 180 grit, making it well suited to finishing and polishing operations. According to the source data, the roll is suitable for general purpose applications in most workshops and garages, including rust removal and polishing and finishing on metal, non-ferrous alloys and painted surfaces.
