JCS itself cautions that zinc-coated clamps can corrode or seize in marine conditions - persistently wet duty calls for stainless throughout.
Worm drive clips seal by drawing the band evenly through a captive screw housing, and the HGS16RP adds the JCS details that make that reliable - an 11-16mm adjustment span, a cold-headed, work-hardened hex screw with rolled threads that will not round off, and fully rounded band edges. Recommended tightening torque for this size is 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Manufactured to exceed BS5315, Kitemarked and NATO approved.
The specification is 18/8 (EN 1.4301) stainless throughout - band, housing and screw - carrying Lloyd's Register Type Approval and suited to salt water and other highly corrosive environments. The same clips serve agricultural irrigation, washdown plant and drainage systems. Measure the hose's fitted outside diameter and pick the range that covers it.

A. This size spans 11-16mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 11-16mm and the HGS16RP is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 7/16 to 5/8 in, covering common 1/2 and 5/8 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
