The Govoni GO1317 is a Torx slogging brake caliper wrench from the M-series range, designed for the assembly and disassembly of brake caliper fixing screws on the front and rear axles of heavy vehicles.
The slogging design is the defining feature: hammer blows on the end of the wrench transmit impact force to the fastener, breaking the corrosion bond on seized screws that no amount of steady torque could release. This is the established technique for heavy vehicle brake caliper servicing where corrosion and high original torque combine to lock fasteners in place.
The Torx profile provides excellent torque transmission with low risk of fastener head rounding, which is particularly important on commercial vehicle caliper bolts where replacement fasteners may be expensive or difficult to source quickly.
All Govoni slogging caliper wrenches are equipped with a 3/4 inch square drive, allowing them to be used with a torque wrench during the clamping phase of the operation in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's torque specifications. A laser-etched torque conversion formula on the wrench compensates for the lever extension of the slogging design — the formula must be applied to set the correct final torque at the fastener.
The tool eliminates the need to remove the steering control tie rod lever during caliper servicing, simplifying the workflow.
